James Baker, Managing Director

Baker Stirling Legal Services Ltd. / Wills & Estate Planning, Powers of Attorney, Probate Services & In-House Legal Services

After graduating from University College London with a degree in History, James studied Law at the College of Law in London and qualified as a Solicitor in 2008. He trained and qualified at London’s leading private client firm Charles Russell, and then subsequently set up and managed CGA Legal Services which was one of the first Alternative Business Structure law firms to practice in England and Wales.

Whilst running CGA Legal Services, James acted as in-house counsel to the CGA Group, advising on a range of areas including general commercial law, employment law and dispute resolution. He recognised the increasing demand from businesses for tailor-made and cost-effective legal advice, and so came up with the idea of offering his clients an in-house legal service.

With his private client background, James has extensive experience in dealing with the complex issues of lifetime and succession planning for both UK and overseas clients, and with Baker Stirling he aims to provide such clients with a city law firm service at an affordable price.
